yeajoon (joon) cho is a korean american writer & filmmaker based in austin, tx and los angeles, ca. ​​

 

his work has screened at festivals globally, including the cinequest film festival, dances with films, la shorts international film festival, and more.​​​ he is an academy nicholl semi-finalist and was a finalist for the black list's 2024 projects lab and sundance's 2025 cultural impact residency. his latest film was executive produced by issa rae as 1 of 4 directors selected for colorcreative's findyourpeople fellowship program and premiered at the 2025 pan african film festival.

he is an alumnus of usc’s school of cinematic arts film & television production program, where he received the jack nicholson screenwriting award and the bridges & larson directing award.
